Christos Poetry Prize 2023

Check out my entry into the Christos Poetry Prize, the theme this year is Dreams of Lorne:

Dreams of Lorne

Going down to Lorne, I dream,

To touch the nice warm sand,

For it to nestle round my toes.

Going down to Lorne, I dream,

To see my pregnant gecko,

Where she slides and slips,

Around the bushes.

Going down to Lorne, I dream,

To taste the delicious food from the bakery,

To savour every crumb.

Going down to Lorne, I dream,

To smell the scent of the salty sea,

To sit on the beach and breathe in the sea air.

Going down to Lorne, I dream,

To hear the eucalyptus sway,

As the waves roll on to the beach.

Going down to Lorne, I dream,

To swim, walk and play,

I know I can do these any day…

But they’re much better in Lorne
